Basmati rice, whose name comes from the Sanskrit word Vasmati—meaning fragrant—has been cherished for centuries. Traditionally cultivated in the Himalayan foothills, regions like Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, and parts of western Uttar Pradesh have long been known for producing this iconic long-grain rice. Over time, however, Basmati cultivation has expanded across India, finding new roots in regions with favorable climates and rich soil profiles.

At Bio Basics, we chose to nurture this legacy a little differently. Our Certified Organic White Basmati Rice is grown in the mineral-rich, arid soils of Rajasthan, where the slower grain development enhances both aroma and taste. Unlike conventionally farmed Basmati, these grains are cultivated without chemicals, aged naturally—not artificially—and handled with care using time-honored organic practices.

This isn’t just rice. It’s tradition, purity, and patience—brought to your plate in its most authentic form.

Transfer to an airtight container after opening. Keep in a cool, dry place, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Best enjoyed within 6 months to preserve its aroma and texture.

Rinse thoroughly and soak for 20–30 minutes before cooking. Use 1 part rice to 2 parts water, cook covered on low heat until fluffy and tender. Perfect for biryanis, pulaos, jeera rice, or simply paired with dals and curries. Its firm, separate grains make it ideal for both everyday meals and special occasions.

Why is this Basmati rice priced higher than regular options?
You're not just buying rice—you're investing in certified organic purity, better nutrition, and a product that’s free from chemicals, grown through sustainable farming, and naturally aged for superior taste.

Will this rice work for meal preps and lunchboxes?
Absolutely. It stays fluffy and non-sticky even hours after cooking, making it ideal for packed meals and batch cooking without clumping.

Is there any artificial fragrance added to enhance the aroma?
No, never. The rich aroma comes from natural aging of the grain—there are zero artificial additives or enhancements in our rice.

How do I know this isn’t just another white rice labeled “organic”?
We work directly with trusted organic farmers in Rajasthan. Our supply chain is traceable and verified—each batch is third-party certified organic.

Do I need to soak the rice before cooking?
Soaking for 15–20 minutes helps the grains elongate even more while cooking. It’s optional but highly recommended for the best results.
