M had got admission for the Anna University Executive MBA by September end last year. All of 29, he was excited about pursuing an MBA along with his job at Bio Basics.
After his brief visit to Chennai for the admission process, he came back home, but fell sick soon thereafter. Diagnosis revealed a very serious Kidney Disease, which after more detailed scans and tests over the following weeks/months led to the dire prognosis - complete kidney failure & a Kidney Transplant. It is a devastating situation and even today, we have not come to terms with it!
M leads our CRM (customer relationship) function, but now has to proceed on long leave (2-3 months) for the transplant and recuperation thereafter. Since the diagnosis, despite dialysis on alternate days, he has been working from home, holding fort, because he wanted to.
His diligence and commitment to his role has always been spectacular, and now, a role model for many of us here.
Walking into our Office soon after Covid in 2021, he took on various roles, one more critical than the other, learning from his colleagues, working with us Founders closely. A teetotaler, staying at home with his parents (his father holds a modest local job), going home for lunch everyday, he is one of our star Managers. Holding a critical role of serving you diligently and making good on the promise that Bio Basics is.
Kidney Transplants are not cheap. Estimate: ₹10- 13 lakhs. Our employee insurance has helped partly, the rest is being raised by his family, well-wishers & the Bio Basics family.
Suffice it to say, that all of us learnt a lot about Kidneys, over the past 4 months.
Suffice it to say that we feel grateful for our own health, like never before.
Suffice it to say, we fervently hope and pray for his successful surgery and recuperation.
Suffice it to say, we are all waiting to see him back in Bio Basics in the months to come.
