Taste trumps all for most of us. Especially for us Indians. Even when we know a dish is good for our health, we need it to be tasty.
This is not a matter of habit. It is what triggers our anatomy to digest the food and absorb its nutrients.
And the taste, at least for us Indians, who rely a lot on spices, comes from the quality of spices.
Spices brought the world to our doorstep for ages, for a reason. Because without that zing, food is just a chore. Not a celebration.
Spices bring out the best in the food, be it the vegetable, or the greens or the grains.
Sadly, spices are also among the most contaminated and adulterated. Why? Because they are the most expensive food product per unit of weight. Much more than grains, vegetables and fruits. And it is easy to cheat with spices, without being detected!
Here's a good example of how a seemingly ordinary dish can be made extraordinary.
Kerala masala curry (in picture) is just boiled potatoes sauteed with the usual spices, except for the organic Bio Basics garam masala that comes from an organic farmer group in Gujarat. That is the magic secret ingredient that simply transforms this relatively ordinary dish into a delicious curry that you will do enjoy and never forget!
Our recommendation: keep your spices clean and tasty. Stick to organic spices.
That is when you can genuinely enjoy your food and keep healthy at the same time.
